A multimedia projection mapping event by artists Jane Ball, Daniel Pryde-Jarman and MASH Cinema responding to the rich archive of the Starley Road neighborhood and its activist history.
The Starley Rd Project includes the LED neon text work installed in the windows of Vicroft Court which reads ‘our own little island’, as part of the ARTIST ON MY STREET project by Coventry Artspace.
The Starley Rd Project is intended as a tribute to the agency and determination of the residents who saved their street from demolition, and initiated the city’s first self-managed housing cooperative, still surviving after 40 years.
Supported by a Coventry City Council Arts &Culture project grant, Meter Room, Coventry University and Hereford College of Arts.
